Shingle Roof Replacement After Hail Damage
Many of VIS Exterior customers are loyal to us and rely on our services for a variety of projects on many areas of their exteriors. This was the case with the owners of this large Darien home, which suffered hail damage. Six years ago, we installed gutters and downspouts on the home and the end result prompted the client to call us in again for the roof replacement project.
The client was eager for VIS Exterior to take care of all the paperwork for the insurance company, so after a thorough inspection, we were able to detail all the problems caused by a wind/hail storm and file a claim with the insurance company. Many emails and conversations later, we received approval to replace the roof. This is a service we offer all of our clients, and is sometimes a requirement of homeowners who do not want any part in the insurance discussions.
This large project involved tearing off the old roof, replacing rotted sheeting and underlayment and installing new materials, which included ice and water shields to prevent leaks. We used a synthetic underlayment and installed a new power vent and new aluminum “fake” box chimney. The homeowner was pleased that we were able to complete the job on time and on budget.
