Cedar siding installation and windows replacement
Like many of our projects, this one was initiated after the client saw the VIS Exterior crew working on a nearby home and inquired about our services. They said their 2,000-square-foot Oak Brook home, which had cedar siding, needed some repairs. Upon inspection, we noticed the age of the siding and the deterioration of it, therefore we recommended completely replacing it rather than making many, many repairs.
Cedar siding has a long life span, but requires maintenance. Depending on how protected your home is from harsh weather conditions, and if you have the siding properly maintained, it can last up to 40 years. Also, the product must be installed correctly or it won’t reach its estimated lifespan. VIS Exterior has a crew of professionals who have worked with cedar for years and years and know all the tricks of the trade when it comes to installation and maintenance. The project also included replacing three windows and trim work.
Upon completion of the project, the client noted that even though they thought they’d only require repairs, that “this was a totally positive experience!” Furthermore, they said they’ve received many compliments from neighbors who have commented on “how great the work VIS Exterior did.”
