LP SmartSide wood siding installation & windows replacement
The homeowner was leaving the country for three weeks and requested VIS Exterior tackle her window and siding replacement her absence. Prior to her leaving, VIS met with her to provide a free inspection and offer her an estimate for the cost of the project. She wouldn’t be leaving for four weeks, which gave us ample time to order the materials and plan the project.
After the customer had left, we could begin the project, which involved our first crew removing old siding, soffit/fascia and gutters. We installed house wrap and taped all the seams. Next, we removed all the old windows and installed new Climate Solution brand #8000 casement windows, which included colonial grids. The color scheme was black on the outside and white on the inside. To fully seal the windows, our team used spray foam.
After all the windows were replaced, we got started the siding, which was lap siding on the first floor and board and batten along with 1.5 in. trim on the second floor. Our manufacturer for these materials was LP SmartSide. We used white 5/4×4 trim and 5/4×6 for the frieze board.
The homeowner is now very pleased with her energy efficient home, and she’s also happy that VIS was able to complete the project in the requested time frame.
